Mary Cecelia Wathen

Mary Cecelia Ceil Wathen, 84, of St. Joseph, Ky. passed away Monday, November 10, 2003, at Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Her life was fulfilled through her children. She enjoyed being a housewife and mother to her husband and two daughters. Later in life, she loved being with her grandchildren and working with the Ursuline Sisters at Brescia College and Mt. St. Joseph Academy. She also enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Anthony Wathen in 1993.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Nancy & Richard Blandford & Janet & Joseph Bowlds, all of Owensboro, a brother, Charles Donahue of Broad Brook, Ct., 4 grandchildren, Robert Dale Blandford, Lisa Edge, and Kara Goetz, all of Owensboro, and Gina Smith of Utica, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday with prayers at 6:30 P.M. and after 8:30 A.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the choice of the donor.
