Elizabeth Tichenor, 94, of Owensboro, died Sunday, February, 10, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Tichenor was born in St. Lawrence, Kentucky, graduated from St. Francis Academy, and had worked for Ken-Rad, S.W. Anderson Department Store, and later ran, with her husband, the Green River Hatchery and the Green River Door Company. A member of Immaculate Catholic church, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and crocheting, and was renowned for her chess pie. Mrs. Tichenor was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Tichenor, her mother, Betty Coomes and her brother Anthony Coomes.
Survivors include her daughters, Frances Kay Tichenor and Mary Lynn Tichenor both of Owensboro.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
