Mary Frances Tanner

Mary Frances Tanner, 91, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the home of a daughter. Born in Ohio County, KY, a daughter of the late James M. and Nellie Sutton, she retired from the former Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. Mrs. Tanner was a wonderful mother. She enjoyed going to church, visiting, and cooking and was particularly devoted to visiting shut-ins at nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Tanner, a son, Richard Lanham, four brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Brooks, Louise Greenwell, and Geraldine Jones, all of Owensboro; 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 12:00 noon Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
