Mary Pauline Coomes Sublett

Mary Pauline Coomes Sublett, 97, of Owensboro, passed away on August 28, 2014. She was born in McLean County on March 31, 1917 to the late Joseph Watt and Hattie Isabell Hodskins Coomes. Pauline was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. She enjoyed cross word puzzles and reading. Pauline retired from G.E. after many years.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, O. Kenneth Sublett; sisters, Anna Marie Byrne, Margaret Edwina Coomes, and Elizabeth Allen; an infant brother; and a stepson, Don Sublett.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Dorothy Sublett White (Brooks) of Alexandria, VA.; and a stepdaughter in law, Sue Sublett; brothers, Felix Coomes (MaryEtta) of Lynchburg, MO, Joseph L. Coomes of West Louisville, James E. Coomes (Rosemary) of Owensboro, Francis E. Coomes of Fort Wayne, IN, Anthony E. Coomes of Cumming, GA, and Henry Coomes of Northridge, CA; a sister, Laura Coomes Baughn of Evansville, IN; step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10am Monday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6pm on Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 8:30-9:15 on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given in the form of donations to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the Carmel Home.
