Mary Helen Stovall, 81, was born March 4, 1935 in St. Louis, MO. to the late Reynolds and Grace Hayden. She passed away to be with the lord on January 13, 2017 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Mary Helen graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1952. After graduating she worked at General Electric all while being a housewife and homemaker, she later became co-owner of Lee's Famous Recipe in Owensboro.
Mary Helen was preceded in death by her husband JC Stovall. She loved to square dance, was an avid reader, an excellent seamstress, a great cook, and loved working in the restaurant and being around the guests. She was also very fond of her pets and enjoyed spending a lot of time with them.
Survivors include her son, William K. Wathen and his wife Brenda of Owensboro; a stepdaughter, Beth James and her husband Steve of Bowling Green; a stepson, Scott Stovall of Owensboro; 9 grandchildren, who all knew her as "Big Jack", Siebe Heath (Brandon), KC Daniel (Laura), Chad James (Kelly), Josh James (Cara), Jason Stovall (Ashley), Lindsey Stovall, Logan Stovall (Jessica), Daile Hancock ( Adam), Heath Tucker (Carlos).
She is also survived by her sisters, Barb Hayden, Dottie Long, Jane Hayden; and brothers, RC Hayden and Joe Hayden.
Services will be noon Monday, January 16, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Scott Hutchison officiating. Visitation will start at 9am on Monday until time of service at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers and gifts, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to St. Judes.
