Mary Allen Spalding

Mary Allen Spalding passed away peacefully Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson. Ms. Spalding had worked for G.C. Electric in Rockford, IL for 17 years, for General Electric in Owensboro, and she was a member of Crabtree Avenue Baptist Church. She and her husband Joe were active in the VFW, American Legion, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Am Vets Post 119 Auxiliary. Ms. Spalding was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Spalding; parents, Napoleon and Dora Goldsberry Allen, Sr.; sister, Frances Mattingly; and brother, Napoleon Allen, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Jean Moldenhauer of Cornelius, OR; brother, Homer Allen and his partner, Mike Grimes of Frankfort, KY; grandchildren, Tammy Reed, Jeff Higdon, and Paul Michael Higdon; great-grandchildren, Heather Reed, Ryder Higdon, Slater Higdon, Haley, and Abby; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Christ Chapel, Owensboro Memorial Gardens, 5050 State Route 144, Owensboro, KY, 42303.
