Mary Sue Gant Sipes

Mary Sue Gant Sipes, 78, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Muhlenberg County on February 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Doyle Robert "DR" and Mary Eunice Landrum Gant; was a member of Breckenridge Street United Methodist Church; was a homemaker, and was an avid animal lover. She was also a member of the 50+ Club, the National Humane Society, and the ASPCA. She enjoyed cooking, making quilts, and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Sipes in 1999.

Surviving are sons, Marc Sipes of Owensboro and Paul (Hannah) Sipes of Southaven, MS; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jerry Johnston of Germantown, TN.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Breckenridge Street United Methodist Church. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
