Mary Elga Simpson

Mary Elga Simpson, 89, of 2700 Trotters Lane, Owensboro, died Saturday, March 22, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Ohio Co., Ky. and was retired from General Electric Co. after 28 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary of The Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville, Ky. She enjoyed bowling, U.K. basketball, Atlanta Braves baseball, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Franklin Simpson, who died on January 13, 2000.
Survivers include a daughter, Barbara Olson of Owensboro, 2 sons, Scott Simpson of Utica, and Darrell Simpson of Owensboro, 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, a brother, Gerald Crowe of Hartford, Ky. and a sister, Virginia Evans of Whitesville, and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, March 25, at 2:30 P.M. at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
