Mary Margaret Thompson Shively, of 6150 Kentucky 405, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Heartland Villa. The Daviess County native had taught school in the Daviess County School System before working at Owensboro National Bank as a teller from where she retired in 1988 and had worked in the War Department during World War II. She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Val Shively; her parents, George and Sallie Hawes Thompson; two brothers, George Thompson and Dorsey Thompson and her twin sister, Sallie Barre, and older sister, Patty Castlen.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Val and Patsy Shively, Jr., of Philadelphia, PA, and George H and Kathy Shively, of North Tazewell, VA, two grandchildren, Ken Shively and John Shively; six nephews; one niece; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Settle Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
