Mary Elizabeth Roby Scott

Mary Elizabeth Roby Scott, 86, of Knottsville passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Carmel Home surrounded by her family. Born May 13, 1924 in St. Lawrence, she was daughter of the late Hobert and Bernadette Speaks Roby; was a homemaker; and member of St William Catholic Church. Mrs. Scott loved her family and her faith, instilling in family members that same faith. She enjoyed reading and quilting. She made many quilts for church picnics and Right to Life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woody Scott in 1970; a grandchild, Amanda Scott, and a great-grandchild, Amber Fish.

Surviving are children, Sarah (Bill) Kemper, Robert Scott, Martha (Kenny) Clark, John (Pam) Scott, Jane (Mike) Haynes, Charles (Leslye) Scott, and Ralph (Donna) Scott; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Dr. Joe (Eileen) Roby and Charles (Ann) Roby; and sisters, Frances Ballard (Beck Roby) and Catherine (Ralph) Mudd.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at St. William Catholic Church with Father Tony Bickett officiating followed by burial in St. William Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where the Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
