Mary Jo Rusher

Mary "Jo" Gerteisen Rusher, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Daviess Co. on November 4, 1930 to the late Louis and Martha Girvin Gerteisen. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was retired after 40 years with General Electric and M.P.D. She enjoyed collecting antique dolls and going to family gatherings. She also enjoyed traveling, crocheting, camping, boating, and skiing.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William E. Rusher on May 18, 1983 and five brothers, Lindy, Jake, Jimmy, Tony, and Jack Gerteisen.

Surviving are her daughters, Karen Ray and husband Steve of Maceo and Becky Winstead and husband Tommy of Owensboro, her son, Jeff Rusher of Owensboro, her sister, Suellen McKay and husband Charles of Maceo, brother, Donnie Gerteisen and wife Linda of Tallahassee, FL, four grandchildren, Stephanie Dunn and husband Jared of Owensboro, Angela Ray of Maceo, Joshua Winstead and wife Carly of Newnan, GA, and William Winstead and wife Alisha of Lexington, a great granddaughter, Annie Glenn Winstead of Newnan, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be 12 Noon Saturday, February 12, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
