Mary Lucille Rowan

Mary Lucille Rowan, 81, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born February 19, 1928 to the late Johnny and Ruby Emberton Hagan in Detroit, MI. She was a Baptist and had worked at Big Lots and Atlantis Swim Club. She was a Kentucky Colonel, enjoyed cooking and she enjoyed going to the beach. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Britt Scott.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, J.B. Rowan, Sr., her son, J.B. (Carla) Rowan, Jr., her daughters, Judy (Earl) Lanham, and Toni (Rick)Taylor, all of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Stacy Boarman, Jameson Moore, Monica Padilla, Joshua Rowan and Zacharie Wilde; five great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Dorrita Powell of Rockport, IN.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, and after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
