Mary Catherine Roberts

Mary Catherine Roberts, 98, of Owensboro, passed away on August 16, 2014. She was born on November 12, 1915, to the late James P. and Rose Ann Lanham Rhinerson. Catherine was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. She was founding member of the Blessed Mother Quilting Club and was also a member of the Golden Years Quilting Club. She loved to play cards with her friends and family and was most happy when she was dancing.


In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her husband Manuel H. Roberts; brothers, June and Charles Rhinerson; and sisters, Dorothy Horrell, Louise Farmer, and Jean Gropp.

Survivors include her children, Rethia Myers (James) of Louisville, John Roberts (Rose) of Owensboro, Joyce Bickett of Owensboro, and Mike Roberts (Debbie) of Dallas, TX; brother, Joe Rhinerson of Owensboro; grandchildren Leisa Nelson, Jim Myers, Kenneth Bickett Jr, Greg Bickett, Amy Knotts, Julie Simpson, Jeff Roberts, Jason Roberts, and Cassandra Roberts; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 pm on Tuesday and after 9am on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be at 6 pm on Tuesday.
