Mary Leon Riney

Sister Mary Leon Riney, 83, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at Mount St. Joseph. She was in her 63rd year of religious life.
The daughter of Thomas Leon and Mary Irmine Mulligan Riney of West Louisville, Kentucky, she taught at Mount St. Joseph Academy, St. Mary Magdalene, Sorgho, Owensboro Catholic High School, and many other schools in the Owensboro Diocese, Louiville Diocese, and Nebraska. She later served in parish ministry in Princeton, Kentucky, Dawson Springs, and Madisonville.
Survivors in clude four sisters, Mary Lou Mudd of Owensboro, Mary Gertrude Mudd of Clarksville, Indiana, Patricia Cheshire of Memphis,Tennessee, and Mary Virginia Dorsten of McDaniels of Kettering, Ohio,three brothers, Jack Riney of Louisville, Kentucky, the Rev.C. Phillip Riney of McDaniels, and David Riney of La Jolia, California.
Funeral Services are at 1:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Mount St. Joseph Chapel, Maple Mount, Kentucky with burial in the convent cemetery at Maple Mount. A wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday, January 29th, also in the chapel, where visitation begins at 4:00 p.m. Glenn Funeral Home of Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
