Mary Louise Rhoads, 89, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Wellington Parc. She was a member of Third Baptist Church for 53 years and had worked for over 25 years at S.W. Andersons. Mrs. Rhoads was a unique and thoughtful person, good friend and excellent cook. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who took great pleasure in time spent with her grandchildren. Mrs. Rhoads was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Tom Rhoads; her son, Jack Rhoads; brother, Bob Harrison; sister, Christine Groscurth; and her parents, Henry and Niva Marlowe Harrison.
Survivors include her son, Larry Rhoads and his wife Sherry; daughter-in-law, Karen Rhoads Anderson and her husband Jim; grandson, Tommy Rhoads and his wife Patricia; granddaughter, Stacy Castlen and her husband Chris all of Owensboro; great-grandchildren, Keri Bartlett, Jaxon Rhoads, Jessica Rhoads, Logan Rhoads, Emily Castlen, Paige Castlen and Madelyn Castlen; great-grandson, Hunter Shelton; sister, Nancy Phillips of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday at Noon in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and after 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Third Baptist Church.
