Mary Kingkade Reed

Mary Kingkade Reed, died Monday, August 30, 2004 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Muhlenburg County on June 24, 1913, Mrs. Reed was the daughter of the late William and Nora McCarthy Kingkade. She was a member of the Breckenridge Street United Methodist Church and was retired from General Electric where she worked for over 35 years. She was a member of the Wesley Daughters Sunday School Class and enjoyed her retirement and spending time with her family. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Reed in 1966 and a daughter, Jean Reed Anderson in 1987.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Reed Ezell and Paul Ezell of Hawesville; 10 grandchildren, Gloria Shepherd of Owensboro, Mike Anderson of Springfield, IL, Debbie Anderson of Lexington, Jim Anderson of Gentryville, IN, Marilyn Cone of Loveland, OH, Josh Hall of Columbia, SC, Ricky Hall of Owensboro, Jeana Draper of Woodburn, KY, Max Ezell of Utica, and Gracie Payne of Owenbsoro; 21 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Kingkade of Owensboro and Robert Kincaid of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 3 P.M. Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday and after 10 A.M. on Thursday.
