Mary Parker Rudy Posante

Mary Parker Rudy Posante, 84, of Owensboro, joined her adoring husband James Posante on Monday, April 14th, 2015. Mary was born in Louisville on September 20, 1930, to Norbourne Thomas Rudy and Mary Helen Bartlett Rudy. In September of 1960, Mom and Dad moved to Owensboro to continue raising their family. Along with being a full time wife and mother, she worked as the manager of The Behr's Store until it's closing.

Momma's life revolved around her husband, children, and grandchildren. She cultivated beautiful gardens fit for royalty, and read every 2000 page novel ever published. Momma was extremely creative, taking great pleasure from painting, flower arranging, and designing prom dresses that any princess would be thrilled to wear. She was always a lady; strong to the end. She was our cheerleader, confidante, voice of reason, and best friend.


In addition to her husband, James, she was predeceased by her sister Susie Hood, and her infant grandson, Brian Joseph Roby.

Mary is survived by her children Lynne Beavers, Leslie Dunn, Julianne O'Bryan (Craig), and Jim Posante. Chris Dunn and Karen Frasier also had a special place in her heart. Her legacy includes 7 beautiful grandchildren, Megan Lynne Adams (Mason), Casey Miller, Christopher Dunn II, Jill Ann Childress (Trey), Jamie Lynn Johnson (Logan), Brandyn V. Beavers, and Bailey Nicole Posante, along with 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Jake Borders and numerous nieces and nephews.


Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16th at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral mass will be said April 17th, at 10:00 a.m., at Immaculate Catholic Church. Father Tony Jones will be officiating.
