Mary Jean Pirtle

Mary Jean Pirtle, 91, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on May 22, 1921 in Daviess Co., KY to the late William J., Sr. and Mary Magdalene Clark Scherm. Mary Jean was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church and very much loved her Catholic faith. She also loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and reading. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Pirtle, a sister, Dot Scherm, a brother, Bill Scherm, and a niece, Julie Scherm.

Surviving are her sister, Helen Shoub of Wilmington, N.C., nieces and nephews, Dr. Michael J. (Janice) Scherm of Owensboro, Terri Ann (Neal) Tong of Owensboro, Patricia (Greg) Nobles of Pelham, AL, Anthony J. (Linda) Scherm of Fairfield, OH, Mary Lily (Edwin) McDivitt of Owensboro, and Paul J. (Pam) Scherm of Owensboro, many beloved great and great great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
