Mary Margaret Pierce

Mary Margaret Bullington Pierce, 73, of Owensboro passed away Oct. 20, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Owensboro on Oct. 3, 1940 to Mose and Margaret Bullington. She was a retired food service employee where she had been a top-notch cook and manager for The Morrison's Cafeteria chain in several southern districts including the Owensboro Towne Square location, Evansville, In., and Charlottesville, Virginia. She enjoyed traveling and was proud of the fact that she had been to almost all 50 states. Mary was of the Baptist faith and spent countless hours every day reading her bible. She was an avid crossword puzzle connoisseur and she would amaze you with her completion record and knowledge of obscure words. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Alan Pierce, her father, Mose N. Bullington, Sr., and her two brothers, Mose N. Bullington, Jr., and Samuel D. Bullington.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lawrence E. Pierce, Jr. of Owensboro, her son Mark A. Pierce of Owensboro, her daughters Tracy Pierce and Mary Alice Pierce of Grandview, IN, her daughter-in-law Melissa Pierce of Grandview, In., her three grandchildren: Trevor A. Pierce of Owensboro, Mark Alexander Pierce and Emily K. Pierce of Grandview, In. , her brother Larry E. Bullington of Owensboro, her mother Margaret Bullington of Rockport, In (formerly of Owensboro), her uncle Daniel Moore of Owensboro, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

The funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, October 24 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM and on Thursday after 10 AM at the funeral home.
