Mary Helen Bratcher Pence

Mary Helen Bratcher Pence, 79, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Harborside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Daviess County on May 30, 1928, Mrs. Pence was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruby Bratcher; was a homemaker; and member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, and, most of all, caring for and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Pence in 2002 and brothers, Jack Bratcher, R.C. Bratcher, and Gene Bratcher.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Lou DeBruler, Becky (and Roger) McDaniel, and Sharon (and Tommy) Embry all of Owensboro; a son, Michael Pence of Louisville; grandchildren, Scott Whitehouse, Pam Daugherty, Amy Johnston, Matthew Whitehouse, Shelena Cox, Rodney McDaniel, Joshua Embry, Bradley Embry, and Mary Margaret Pence; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Bratcher and Raymond (and Florence) Bratcher of Philpot and Edwin ( and Shirley) Bratcher of Ridgeway, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 12 noon Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Glenn Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Treon officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Monday and after 9 A.M. on Tuesday.
