Mary Edna Payne

Mary Edna Payne, 96, of Knottsville, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 17, 1913, to the late Raphael and Julia Ann Wathen Johnson in Daviess County. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, and being a homemaker for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bernard Payne, three sons, Raphael Bernard Payne, Vincent Leo Payne, and Joseph Allen Payne, two daughters, Dorothy Marie Roberts and Lois Ann Willoughby, and a granddaughter, Susan Nicholas.

Survivors include her grandchildren; Allen Payne, David Payne, Cindy Holten, Michael Payne, Eric Payne, Kenny Roberts, Shawn Roberts, Pat Isbill, Julie Roby, Kevin Isbill, and Toni Isbill; twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bernadette Melton, Rose Ann Roberts, and Marie Fulkerson, all of Owensboro, her brother, Lawrence Johnson of Knottsville.

Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, at St. William Catholic Church, with burial in St. William Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, with prayers at 6:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation Thursday will be after 9:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.
