Mary Cecilia Patton

Mary Cecilia Patton, 86, of Owensboro, passed away August 2, 2014. She was born on April 15, 1928 in Daviess County to the late Samuel and Mary Payne. Mary was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and was a member of the Sacred Hearts League. She was an individual who spent her time taking care of her family. Finding little to do outside of the home, she tended to the needs of her kids and the love of her life for 65 years. She enjoyed spending time in her yard working in the flower garden and was sure to feed her craving of Coca-Cola on a daily basis. Mary was patient, kind, loving, and enjoyed her time spent with her family.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Patton; sisters Mae Fife, Bernadine Slayton, Mary Katherine Payne, and Lear White.; brothers, James Payne and Buck Payne,

Survivors include her sons; David Patton (Mary), Robert Patton (Martha); daughter, Patty Fitzgerald (Carl); Grandsons, David Jr., James (April), and Jason Patton, Robert Patton Jr. (Ashley), Carl Fitzgerald Jr. (Natalie), and Kevin Fitzgerald; Granddaughters, Shelly White (Rocky), Lisa Fitzgerald, and Kayla Fitrzgerald; Sister, Clara Patton (Jay) and Sister-in-law, Shirley Early. She also leaves behind 14 Great-Grandchildren.

Services will be Noon, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Carl McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 10:00AM until the time of service at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
