Mary Williams Osborne, 91, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Carmel Home. She was born October 15, 1925 in Daviess Co. to the late Aloysius Jerome and Mary Diellen Hagan Williams, Sr. She was the first of six children and grew up in Owensboro, where she graduated from St. Francis Academy.
Mary worked for General Electric and later retired from Owensboro Mercy Hospital where she worked as a certified nurse's assistant and a ward clerk. She met her future husband, Toney, when she was working at Walgreens Drug Store and they married in 1943. Mary loved her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. She always cherished her children and family. She truly loved baking, house cleaning, and taking long walks.
Mary moved to the Carmel Home in 2014 and enjoyed her frequent visits from the Carmel Home sisters, as well visits from Bishop John McRaith. She loved many days in the company of her daughter Judy and sons Tommy and David.
Mary was also preceded in death in 1987 by Toney, her husband of nearly 43 years, as well as her sons, Tony, Jr. and Michael Lynn, and a daughter, Cheryl Ann Loehr.
Surviving are her daughter, Judith Osborne, sons, Tommy Osborne and wife Debbie and David Osborne and wife Vickie, all of Owensboro, her brother, John Williams of Owensboro, 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Connie Osborne of Bardstown, and son-in-law, Don Loehr of Evansville.
Services will be Noon Friday, August 4, at St. Stephen Cathedral with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday with prayers at 6:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
