Mary Boswell Oliver

Mary Boswell Oliver joined her husband Dr. Jess Oliver in heaven on August 29, 2014. Mary was born to the Rev. John and Sarah Boswell of Henderson County April 12, 1922. Mary worked at Kenrad and GE and retired from Texas Gas after 30 years of service.

Mary was a faithful member of Wing Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years. No one doubts that she dances with angels today.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband Hugh Alsup, her first love Jess, her siblings James Boswell, Lula Moss, Polly Harrison and Frances Bellamy and her son Dana.

Surviving are sons; Michael (Lah) and John (Carrie), daughter; Susan (Brad), and daughter in law; Melissa. Grandchildren Jennifer (Brad) Shafer, Scheva (John) Hurm, Dr. John (Dr. Hannah) Oliver, Jamie (Cliff) Jackson, Raegan Oliver, and six great-grandchildren; siblings Jeanette (Archie) Hazelwood, Sarah Westerfield and Shelby (Jenny) Boswell.

A service for Mrs. Oliver will be held 10 am Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 am until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
