Mary Williams LaRue Obryan

Mary Williams LaRue OBryan, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mrs. OBryan was born in Owensboro, the daughter of the late Chester A. and Mary Washburn LaRue. Following her graduation from Owensboro High School, she entered Vanderbilt University from which she graduated with a degree in medical technology. A member of St. Stephen Cathedral, Mrs. OBryan had been a member of the Altar Society, a member of the Womens Auxiliary at Mercy Hospital and a volunteer in its emergency room. She played a little golf and a lot of bridge, enjoyed needlepoint, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Hospital Guild. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John S. LaRue.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Henry E. OBryan; her sons, Hank OBryan of Frankfort, Dr. William M. OBryan and his wife Sherry of Owensboro, Stephen L. OBryan and his wife Ann of Inverness, IL, Frank M. OBryan of Owensboro, and James E. OBryan and his wife Laura of Snellville, GA; and her grandchildren, Katherine Erin OBryan of Chicago, Dr. Kevin W. OBryan of Little Rock, AK, Matthew M. OBryan of Atlanta, Kelly OBryan Schmidt and her husband Barry of Chicago, Marianne Lally OBryan of Addison, TX, Gregory Michael OBryan and his wife Marci of Lexington, Scott Lewis OBryan of Jackson, TN, and James Spencer OBryan and John Parker OBryan, both of Snellville, GA.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Cathedral, officiated by the Rev. John Vaughan and the Rev. Tony Jones. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, with prayers at 6:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
