Mary Ann Oberst

Mary Ann Oberst, 79, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Owensboro Medical Health System from heart complications. She was born in Daviess County on June 3, 1929 to the late Theodore and Mary Alvey Frey. She was an active member of Immaculate Parish and served as a lector and was involved in the RCIA program. She was also active in Cursillo for many years and was a member of the Glenmary Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald E. Oberst on June 14, 2005 and a brother, William Frey.

Surviving are sons and their wives, Gerald and Eve Oberst, Jr. of Brussels, Belgium, Christopher and Della Oberst of Winston-Salem, NC, and Daniel and Lisa Oberst of Bowling Green, KY, daughters and their husbands, Julia and Mark Ziebarth of Summerland, British Columbia, Mary Claire Oberst and Dave Irvine of Prescott, AZ, Laura and Dennis Tucker of Murray, KY, Alison and Tom Davis of Nashville, TN, and Jennifer Curtis of Westerville, OH, 18 grandchildren, Martin, Lisa and Claire Oberst, Sarah and Matthew Oberst, Jonathan, Ani, Thomas and Carolyn Rose Ziebarth, Rachel Irvine, Kathryn and Rebecca Tucker, Shelby, Drew, Natalie and Leah Davis, Danielle and Davis Oberst; two brothers, George Frey of Owensboro and Jim Frey of Plainfield, IL; and a sister, Laura Goins of Owensboro.

Services are 11:30 A.M. Monday, July 14, 2008 at Immaculate Catholic Church with burial following in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
