Mary Hale Hines Morrow

Mary Hale Hines Morrow, 96, passed from this life to the Church Triumphant on August 22, 2008 at the Carmel Home, Owensboro, KY. Born in Whitesville, KY on May 26, 1912, Mary was the daughter of Leslie and Della Sinnett Hines. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leland Morrow, a brother, James Hines, and a great-grandson, John Mark Sowards.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Morrow Sowards and husband Glenn; sons, Darrell Morrow and wife Virginia Depp Morrow and William J. Morrow. Also surviving are grandchildren, Wesley Sowards, Julie Sowards Allen, Elizabeth Morrow Trendkamp, Cynthia Morrow Kinskey, Valerie Morrow Kling, and Gregory Morrow; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert L. Hines and wife Peggy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Morrow was known by her gentle, quiet manner and her last days were lived with a serene quiet acceptance and resignation. She was an avid reader and very gifted in sewing and needle work. Mary was a member of the Owensboro Women's Club and the Owensboro Women's Christian Group. Her greatest interest, outside her family, was her longtime membership in the First Christian Church where she was Deacon Emeritus and one of the few surviving members of the former Berean Sunday School Class. She continued her membership in the Christian Women's Fellowship.

Services are 11 A.M. Monday, August 25, 2008 at First Christian Church with Reverend Doctor Glenn Sowards officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Atrium of First Christian Church on Monday.
