Mary Medcalf

Mary Medcalf, 84, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Richwood Nursing and Rehab in LaGrange. Mrs. Medcalf was born October 22, 1931 in Bowling Green to the late Howard and Emma Denny Holton. She was the administrator of three nursing facilities and retired as the owner and operator of Resthaven Nursing Center in Owensboro. Earlier in her life, Mrs. Medcalf loved showing horses and later in life she enjoyed bowling. She was devoted to her church, Walnut Memorial, where she volunteered in many ways.

Mrs. Medcalf was preceded in death by her husbands, Othello Ben Jones I, William Jackson, and Forest Medcalf; son, Othello Ben Jones II in 2011; granddaughter, Sharon L. Matthews in 2013.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Matthews and husband Joe of LaGrange; granddaughters, Sherri Cooper and husband Chris, and Jennifer Jones; great grandsons, Matthew and Kyle Cooper and J.D. Elder; daughter in law, Becky Jones of Owensboro.

The service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Travis Farris officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 Saturday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green.
