Mary Elizabeth McLaughlin

Mary Elizabeth McLaughlin, 90, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord, July 5, 2015. She was born in McLean Co. on June 22, 1925 to the late Robbie and Catherine Ellis. Mary was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and had retired from G.E.

Mary loved all animals, planting flowers, reading, and watching western movies. She never met a stranger and was kind and generous to all. Mary enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and needle point crafts. She especially loved spending time with her friend, Barbie.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; Charles William McLaughlin, brothers; John, Thurman, and Ernest Lee Ellis; and sister; Jane Johnson.

Survivors include her sons; Steve (Tish) McLaughlin of Owensboro and Terril Ray of Texas, a daughter, Linda Jeter of PA, sister; Vanita Lynn of Sacramento, brothers; Larry (Betty) Ellis of Ky. and Gary (June) Ellis of FL, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 2pm Wednesday at Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Daviess County Animal Shelter or Owensboro Humane Society.
