Mary Wingfield Mcelwain

Mary Wingfield McElwain, 64, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born August 14, 1941, Mrs. McElwain retired from the Owensboro Board of Education. She was the cafeteria manager at the Owensboro Middle when she retired. She was a member of the Peoples Baptist Church and loved to go to Flea markets and quilt. Mrs. McElwain was preceded in death by her father, Alvia Wingfield and a sister, Helen Isom.

She is survived by her husband, Billy McElwain; three sons, Terry (and Julie) Clark of Clarksville, TN, Keith (and Terri) Clark of New Albany, IN, and Todd (and Robin) Clark of Owensboro; a step-son, Billy ( and Karen) McElwain, Jr. of Owensboro; her mother, Ruth Basham Wingfield of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Wingfield of Knottsville, and Billy Wingfield of Owensboro; and two sisters, Alta Reed and Lorene Apman both of Owensboro.

Services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Christ Chapel, Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
