Mary Floella "Aunt Flo" Mattingly, 87, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at University of Louisville Medical Center. She was born in Knottsville to the late James Robert and Mary Rose (Roby) Millay. She was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic minister and minister of hospitality, with a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Flo, a loving mother, was quick witted with a sense of humor, an excellent memory, and very much a people person where everyone was welcome in her home. Her husband, Vincent E. Mattingly preceded her in death, November 17, 2006, a daughter, Shirley Sharp and her husband, Jack, a great-granddaughter, Lindsay Beth Clements, as well as siblings, Jack, James and Bob Millay, Dorothy Roberts, Kathleen Clark, Beverly Hagerman, Martha Jean Newby.
Surviving are her sons, Gene (Karen) Mattingly of Louisville, Ky., Mike (Sondra) Mattingly of Philpot, and Perry Mattingly of Owensboro; daughters, Deanna (Joseph) Mills, Janice (Marvin) Clark, and Martha Lois (Lynn) Gary all of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Millay of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Carl McCarthy officiating. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. with Fr. Brandon Williams leading prayers at 6:00 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
