Mary E. Mattingly, 72, of Masonville, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Heartford House surrounded by the people she loved the most, her family. She was born December 2, 1942 in Daviess Co., KY to the late Nall and Emma Francis Horton Wright. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the former New Bethel United Methodist Church in Ohio Co. and had been a part of the Masonville Baptist Church family. She also enjoyed U. K. basketball and Nascar. Mary was a very loving and caring wife, mother, Mamaw, sister, and aunt. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Wright.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Carl Mattingly, two daughters, Debra Shelton and husband Joe of Owensboro and Kimberly Greer and husband Jeff of Whitesville, four grandchildren, Justin Brumley, Alexis Cook, Jacob Shelton, and Austin Cook, four stepgrandchildren, Ashley Crafton, and Stanley, Kelsey, and Dylan Greer, two step great grandchildren, a brother, George (Sue) Wright of Utica, three sisters, Anna (Charles) Stewart of Owensboro, Fay Richardson of Owensboro, and Alice (J.C.) Stewart of Masonville, a sister-in-law, Shelby Wright of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, December 10, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Kimbrough Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday.
