Mary I. Mattingly

Mary I. Mayme Mattingly, 89, of 2501 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, died Monday, December 24, 2001 at the Carmel Home. She was born May 3, 1912 in Daviess County, Kentucky the daughter of Ellis and Henrietta Millay Lanham. Her husband, Joseph E. Buck Mattingly, died March 31, 1992.

Mrs. Mattingly retired from Brescia University as a housekeeper. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Mattingly of Owensboro and Richard Mattingly of Newburgh, IN; three daughters, Mary Ann Hardy of New Albany, IN and Joetta Millay and Judy Stinnett, both of Owensboro; 18 grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001 at Saint William Catholic Church in Knottsville, officiated by Father Tony Stevenson. Burial will follow in Saint William Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at Glenn Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2001 and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
