Mary Ashworth Manley

Mary Ashworth Manley, 84 of Philpot, passed away January 17, 2018.Mary was born September 7, 1933 in Reed, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Nellie Simpson Ashworth. Mary was a long-time member of Bethabara Baptist Church and an active member of the churches quilting club. A homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; Mary was not the idle type and always spent her time loving and helping others.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Manley was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald Franklin Manley; sisters, Betty Jean Sowders, Eula Mae, Wanda Ashworth, brothers, James Ashworth, Randall "Sonny" Ashworth, and Harold "Buddy" Ashworth.

Mrs. Manley is survived by her children, Reba (John Kirk) Atkinson of Round Hill, Kentucky, son, Stephen (Lisa) Manley of Philpot, Kentucky;Tracy Elaine (John) McNaughton of Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren: Chelsey Clark, Quentin Clark, Josiah Turner, Xavier Clark, Dakota Atkinson, Levi Manley, Abigail Manley, Angela Atkinson, Alexis Atkinson, and McKailah Atkinson; 4 great grandchildren, and Brother Kenneth (Jeannie) Ashworth of Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Bethabara Baptist Church and Oneida Baptist Institute.

The funeral will be 3 pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Bethabara Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Peeples officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 2 pm Sunday at the church. Burial will take place at Bethabara Baptist Cemetery.
