Mary Louise Harper "Weezie" Tinsley, 82, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born September 13, 1934 in Daviess County to the late Earl J. and Mary Schenk Harper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Henry Tinsley on June 7, 1999, brothers, Earl Harper, Jr., Edward Harper, Robert Vincent Harper, and a sister, Martha Jean Harper Rutecki.
Louise worked briefly for General Electric, but for many years, she provided childcare for over 50 children in Daviess County and loved each of them as if they were her own. Upon her retirement from childcare, she began volunteering with Melinda Cornell through the hospital with Golden Partners previously known as (Senior Partners) and loved doing this for over 25 years. She was/is a member of Masonville United Methodist Church. Louise loved the Lord, her family, friends, and church family. She had numerous hobbies including her favorite, card making.
Surviving are her daughter, Jean Tinsley Saalwaechter and husband Carl of Owensboro, a grandson, Adam Tinsley Saalwaechter and wife Meredith of Hartford, great grandchildren, Ian Parker Saalwaechter and Blair Elizabeth Saalwaechter, a sister, Betty Harper Moorer, a host of nieces and nephews, and very special extended family members, Brenda and Larry Hayden, Dr. Amy and Ed Ray, their children, Tucker, Elizabeth, and Catherine, and Brad and Michelle Hayden, and their children, Camille and Jaxon.
Services will be Noon Friday, October 14, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home
The family would like to thank Dr. Jeremy Bradley, Dr. J. Russell Ross, and Dr. Jewraj Maheshwari, and their staffs for taking such wonderful care of her through the years. They would also like to thank Dr. Tamberly McCoy and the staff of the Heartford House for gentle care of her and the family.
