Mary Leona Lane Wathen

Mary Leona Lane Wathen, 68, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Twin Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on December 26, 1957, in Daviess County, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late William and Odessa Powers Lane. Dedicated to caring for others, she spent many years serving as a cook and dietician at Twin Rivers Nursing and also brought joy to many families through babysitting. Mary found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking, tending to her vegetable garden, making crafts, and cheering on drivers during NASCAR races. Above all, Mary cherished time spent with her family and friends. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, never missing an opportunity to attend their ball games. In addition to her parents, Mary was reunited in death with her great-granddaughter, Daisy Daugherty, and her siblings, Robert Lane, Anna Lee Dockery, and Dorothy Cotton. Her legacy of love lives on through her three daughters, Denise Billings of Breckinridge County, April Conder (Brian) of Philpot, and Mary Frances (Steven) of Owensboro. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Courtney and Austin Lyons, Jacob, Emily, and Nickolas Conder, and Chase, Les, and Preston Bowlds; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 PM until 3 PM Saturday, November 7 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory
