Mary C. Kennedy, 82, of The Carmel Home, passed away on January 14, 2014 at OHRH. She was born on February 15, 1931, to the late Frank and Ava Kennedy. Mary was a Teacher and Principal in Owensboro for the Catholic School System, most recently a Principal for Holy Angels Elementary School and served on the board of directors of the Catholic Foundation. Mary also served as a member of the Evaluation Team for Diocesan Self Study and Office of Superintendent. She served as Co-Founder and Secretary to Diocese of Owensboro Catholic Education Inc. from 1983-1985; served on Archdiocesan Curriculum Steering Committee for Archdiocese of Indianapolis from 1974-1975; served as Principal at St. Peter School in Waverly, KY while in charge of integration with Blessed Martin School and consolidation at St. Vincent School serving Sturgis, Marion, St. Vincent and St. Peter area students.

She also was preceded in death by her brothers Charles and Raymond Kennedy; sister Anna Clements; brothers in-law Robert Peters and Carl Medley.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Lola Whitesides, Gladys Peters, Norma Medley, Joan Byrne (J.L.) and Sherry Holinde (Sam); brother Larry Fulkerson; brother in-law Don Clements; sister in-law, Marilyn Fulkerson and three special friends, Sister Mary Jude Cecil, Joan Perry and Mary Danhauer.

Services will be at the Carmel Home on Thursday at 10AM Visitation will be held at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday 4-8PM and Thursday morning from 9 until the time of service at the Carmel Home. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The Carmel Home or The Owensboro Catholic School System.
