Mary Ridgely Walker Johnson, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at her home with her family at her side. Mary was born on May 30, 1927 in Yelvington (Maceo) to the late Richard Lee "Dick" and Mamie Gertrude Gatewood Walker. She attended Daviess Co. Schools and was a graduate of the Kentucky State School of Hairdressers and Cosmetology and had worked at Mr. Jim's Beauty Salons. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of Yelvington Baptist Church, had been visiting Eaton Memorial Baptist Church, and loved reading her bible most every morning and evening. She also loved to shop and walk in the mall with her daughter Vickie and talk to everyone. She was a person who never met a stranger.

Mary married her husband, James T. "Jimmie" Johnson on January 31, 1947 who survives. Also surviving are three children, Vickie R. Johnson, Scott and wife Sabrina Johnson, and Todd and wife Rose Johnson, all of Owensboro, The Johnsons lost a son, James Terry Johnson on June 2, 1960. They have four grandchildren, Tiffany and husband Joey Coombs, Nicholas and wife Brittany Johnson, Thomas Johnson, and Walker Johnson, all of Owensboro, and two great grandchildren, Lillian and Bella Coombs.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 30, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 P.M. Friday and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
