Mary Ava Haynes Knott Jackson

Mary Ava Haynes Knott Jackson, 62, of East Byers Avenue, Owensboro, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at her home. She was born in Owensboro to the late J. Millard and Louise (Froehlich) Haynes. Mary's favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren, and she enjoyed gardening, volunteer work and her family and friends. She retired in 2002 from NSA/ Century Aluminum where she did payroll for 31 years. She was a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High and attended Brescia College. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Her husband Jim "JJ" Jackson preceded her in death in 2004 as well as a brother J.M. Haynes Jr. in 2000.
Surviving are her two sons, Eric (Carrie) Knott of Baton Rouge , LA. and Camron (Nikki) Knott of Sacramento, KY, grandchildren, Keagan Knott of Baton Rouge, and Katelyn Marie Knott of Sacramento, five sisters, Carol Drury, Patty Thomas, Gloria (Steve) Baker, Debbie (Steve) Thompson, Rhonda (Tim) Troutman, and one brother, Steve(Janet) Haynes all of Owensboro, and 21 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Fr. John Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 6 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Blessed Mother Catholic Church, Right to Life of Owensboro, or to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
