Mary Ruth Kennedy Hurm

Mary Ruth Kennedy Hurm, 84, of 2802 Daviess St., Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late John L. and Mary Emma Carrico Kennedy. She was a homemaker and had worked at General Electric Co. for 17 years. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Wayne Miles II on Aug. 20, 2006, three brothers, Jesse Lee Kennedy, Joseph Richard Kennedy, and Virgil Kennedy, and a sister, Roberta E. Kennedy.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Joseph W. "Dutch" Hurm, a daughter, Mrs. Richard W. (Suzanne) Miles of Midlothian, Tx., a grandson, Trenton Joseph Miles of Waxahachie, Tx., and a brother, Robert L. Kennedy of Owensboro, and three nieces and nephews, Sandra Howard, Jerry Kennedy, and Kenny Kennedy.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 7, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 9:00 A.M.. Monday at the Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
