Mary Frances Hayden

Mary Frances Hayden, 88, of Owensboro died at the Carmel Home Monday, October 26, 2015, the 69th anniversary of her marriage to her late husband Joseph Dennis Hayden. Born in Owensboro, a daughter of the late Joseph Claude and Mary Frances Bellew Clark, she loved and treasured her faith, family, so many friends, and her home where she resided for fifty-five years. She enjoyed music, reading, raising beautiful flowers and delighted in the many children she babysat for over the years. Other hobbies included lengthy visits with friends over the telephone and playing hymns on the piano after beginning lessons in her forties. She simply loved life. Mrs. Hayden was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Clark, and four sisters, Virginia Ballard, Dorothy Goetz, Ruth Webster, and Mildred Clark.

She is survived by her children Janet Marie Hayden of Leesville, SC, Sr. Claudia Hayden of Mount Saint Joseph, Gary Dennis Hayden (Macushla) of Woodsboro, TX, and Maria Frances Hayden (David Bailey) of Owensboro; her grandchildren Melissa Hayden, Joseph Hayden, and Derrick Hayden, of Owensboro, Casandra Clary (Brent) of Lewisport, and Matthew Hayden (Amy) of Atlanta; her great-grandchildren Taylor Clary and Ryan Clary; and her brothers and sisters, Margaret Beyke and Bernard Leo Clark, of Whitesville, Paul Clark, Rosemary Moore, and Carolyn Randall, of Louisville, and Tom Clark and Tony Clark, of Owensboro; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The funeral Mass will be 12:00 noon Friday, October 30, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mount Saint Joseph Retired Sisters Fund or The Carmel Home.
