Mary Rita (Millay) Hamilton, 89, of Owensboro passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side Wednesday March 11th, 2015. She was the youngest and last child of Thomas Emmett and Clara Gertrude Millay.
She was married to Carl Edward Hamilton and together had 9 children. She was a waitress at Barney's Peppermint Grill and Old Hickory. She was a member of Precious Blood Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three sons: Pat Hamilton, Wayne Hamilton and Glenn Hamilton. Two brothers: Carl Millay and Earl Millay. Seven sisters: Eleanor Henderson, Mabel Mattingly, Eufala Eubanks, Melissa Kelley, Eloise Greathouse, Libby Basham, Bernadine Purcell. She was also preceded by her husband: Carl Edward Hamilton.
She leaves behind two sons: Mark Alan Hamilton, Anthony "Tony" (Sherry) Hamilton, four daughters: Rita Kay (James) Berry, Nita Gay (Terry) Gilbert, Rebecca Jean Hamilton, and Judy Ann Hamilton Caldwell. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and 1 great great grandchild on the way.
The funeral services will be Saturday March 14, 2015 at 11am at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Father Bruce McCarty with visitation Friday March 13th, 2015 from 2p - 8pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 10am at the Church Saturday.
