Mary E. Blandford Goetz

Mary E. Blandford Goetz, 95, of Owensboro, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Carmel Home. She was born in Daviess County to the late John R. and Lillian Blandford.
Mary was a longtime member of Immaculate Catholic Church where her activities included RCIA, choir and Altar Society. She was the first recipient of the Maple Leaf Award from Mount St. Joseph Academy Alumnae Association and a dedicated volunteer at the Carmel Home for more than 18 years. Mary worked as an accounting clerk at Sears for twenty years.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard A. Goetz, Sr. in 1992; a sister, M. Eleanor Swanson; and brothers, J. Coleman, Ambrose, Joe E., George L., Damien M., Hubert A., John R., Vird A., Bernard, James Leo, and Clarence Blandford.
She is survived by daughters, Angela Wink of Owensboro, Sylvia McCauley of Colorado Springs, CO and Elaine Hartle (Gary) of Monument, CO; sons, Bernard A. "Tony" Goetz (Nancy) of Nicholasville, KY, Joseph Stephen Goetz (Jay) of Tulsa, OK, William Larry Goetz (Marcia) of Cumming, GA and Rev. J. Raymond Goetz of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Ward of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be at 10 AM Saturday, August 1 at Immaculate Catholic Church. Bishop William F. Medley and Fr. Raymond Goetz will preside. Burial will be at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 PM, with prayers at 6:30, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
