Mary F. Phillips Fulkerson

Mary Phillips Fulkerson, 86, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born January 12, 1923 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Bascom and Mary Elizabeth Padon Phillips; was owner and Secretary/Treasurer of Lark Electric Co for 45 years; a homemaker; and member of St Stephen Cathedral. Mrs. Fulkerson enjoyed dancing, singing, praying and gardening; was a dedicated 35-year volunteer at the HELP Office; and was very active in Cursillo Movement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Smith Fulkerson on August 7, 1992.

Survivors include sons, Richard F. "Dick" (and Annette Henry) Fulkerson, Michael R.(and wife Susan Birnie) Fulkerson, Danny W. (and wife Zoe Sweeney) Fulkerson, and Mark L. (and wife Donna Kyle) Fulkerson all of Owensboro; daughters, Donna Marie Cary (and husband Bryan) Jones of Manassas, VA and Tracy Ann (and husband Randy) King of Hartford; grandchildren, Tony Dunn, Toby Dunn, Tami Windham, Michael (Donna) Fulkerson, Stacy (Steve) Brandenburg, Drew (Jahna) Fulkerson, Melany Fulkerson, Eric (Diana) Edwards, Nikki (Don) Vandenbord, Rachel Cary, Marcus Fulkerson, Leslie Renee' Fulkerson, Aaron King, and Jessica (Jeremiah) Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Padon Phillips of California.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at St Stephen Cathedral with Fr. Joshua McCarty officiating followed by burial in St Augustine Cemetery in Reed. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. on Monday at Glenn Funeral Home where prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
