Mary Lou Ashby Frizzell

November 18, 1931 — September 19, 2012

Mary Lou Ashby Frizzell passed away peacefully on September 19th at Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hartford, Ky. She is finally Home, singing and dancing for Jesus after a five year battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Mrs. Frizzell was born in Ohio County on November 18, 1931 to the late Ulys Clark Ashby Sr. and Cleo P. Ashby. She was a member of Masonville Baptist Church for many years, where she at one time, sang in the choir and taught youth girls' Sunday School classes.

She obtained her business degree from Western Kentucky Business College and retired after 41 years of service from General Electric/MPD. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister.

"We have been missing our sweet momma for so long now, that it is not so hard to say goodbye. We are happy that she is in her real home with her Lord and Savior and our Daddy, until we all meet again."

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Orville J. (Bob) Frizzell on October 5, 2009; by her sisters, Martha A. Brown and June A. Holiday, and by a brother Clark Ashby.

Surviving are her daughters, Cindy Thompson (Billy) of Hartford, Judy Thompson (Gene) of Maceo, and Shannon Simon (Ronnie) of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Beth Bratcher, Cory Thompson (Lauren), Kirby Reed (Nathan), Hayden Simon, Jake Simon, and Sami Simon; a great-grandson, Conner Bratcher; a sister, Peggy Stewart of Hartford; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Kimbrough Simmons officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday before the service.
