Mary Rose Frakes

Mary Rose Frakes, 81, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mrs. Frakes was born September 23, 1935 in Daviess County to the late Elmer "Joe" and Edith Canary Hester. She worked for American Brands at the Cigar Factory until retirement in 1977. Mary Rose enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.

Mrs. Frakes was preceded in death by her husband, George Frakes Jr. in 2000; infant daughter, Linda Frakes in 1953; infant sons, William and Robert Frakes both in 1955; sisters, Becky Hester Morgan in 1978, Ruth "Jean" White in 1998, Elizabeth Mae Lyons in 2012 and Wanda Faye Lancaster in 2016; brothers, William "Willie" Hester in 1993 and Carl Ray Hester in 2011.

Survivors include her son, George "Skip" Frakes III and wife Diana Lynn of Utica; sister, Patsy Irene Sears and husband Tim of Nokomis, Florida; brother, Danny Joe Hester and wife Mary Ellen also of Nokomis, Florida; two grandchildren, Tiffany Lynn Grant and husband Derek and George "Chad" Frakes IV; five great grandchildren, Raelynn Grace, Corbin Ray, Leighton Rose, Kenley Rae and Cayson Quinn.

The service will be at 12:00 noon Thursday, November10 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 and Thursday from 10:00 AM.
