Mary Ruth Goff Ellis

Mary Ruth Goff Ellis, 75, of Owensboro, Kentucky went to be with her Lord, Monday, March 08, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School for 35 years. She worked at General Electric for 33 years while raising four children. Mrs. Ellis loved to cook, she also enjoyed crafting and sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Goff and Virgie Shouse Stinnett; and her daughter, Ruth Ann Ellis.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Bobby Allen Ellis; sons, Thomas Ellis and his wife Celyna of Tyler, TX, Roger Ellis and his wife Vickie and Rodney Ellis and his wife Christy all of Owensboro; daughter, Deborah West and her husband Joshua of West Frankfort, IL; grandchildren, Brad Ellis, Jonathan Ellis, Robin Ellis, Tiffany Nicholson, Megan Ellis, Leslie Ellis, Katie Ellis, Helen West, Bryanna Bruce, Lorie Bruce, Allison Ellis, Natalie Ellis, and Andrew Ellis; and great-grandchildren, Masson Nicholson, Kailey Nicholson, and Tristan Jordan; a sister, Margie Ann Melton of Owensboro and a brother David Edward Goff of Indianapolis, IN.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
