Mary Pheobe Riney Ebelhar

Mary Pheobe Riney Ebelhar, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Daviess County to the late Guerdon and Mabel Riney.

Mary Pheobe was a loving and dedicated homemaker and a devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Through the years, she and Vincent enjoyed numerous hobbies and interests, including square dancing, travelling extensively and attending plays. Most of all they were focused on living Christ-centered lives and building strong family relationships.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Tina Ebelhar Dixon and Judith Marie Ebelhar; a brother, Hugh Riney; sisters, Dorothy Marie Getchell, Maxine Cecil and Edith Riney; grandchildren, Jonathon Hughes, Keith Ebelhar and Ted Ebelhar.

Mary Pheobe is survived by her husband of 73 years, Vincent Joseph Ebelhar; daughters, Suzanne Roberts (Harold) of Indianapolis and Lisa Hughes (Steve) of Nashville, TN; sons, Joseph V. Ebelhar (Arlene) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, John D. Ebelhar (Mary Ann), Philip E. Ebelhar (Cathy), Danny Ebelhar (Sharon), Jeff Ebelhar (Margie) and Tony Ebelhar (Julie), all of Owensboro; son-in-law, Brad Dixon of Frackville, PA; 30 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brothers, F.G. Riney of West Louisville, KY, Kelly Riney of Louisville, Jim Riney of Orlando, FL and Don Riney of Amelia Island, FL; a sister, Beverly Riney Cambron of Vero Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 22 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Buckner will officiate. Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 PM,with prayers at 6 PM, and after 9 AM on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
