Mary Ellen Clark

Mary Ellen Clark, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born September 26, 1925 in Salem, W. VA. to the late Howard and Alberta Cox Marks. Mary Ellen had worked and retired from the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and before that, had worked for many years with the former Clark Construction Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Owensboro Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved spending time with her family, watching U.K. basketball, and many other sports. She also loved volunteering her time and had owned the Cla-Mor Antique Shop. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John R. Swope on March 27, 2012 and her second husband, Robert Leo Clark in January of 1990.

Surviving are her sons, Robert L. and wife Crystal Swope of Owensboro and Bill and wife Valerie Swope of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Marisa (Tom) Needles of Mt. Juliet, TN, Melanie (Jason) Jordan of Mt. Juliet, Brandon (Kelsi) Swope of Owensboro, and Austin (Amber) Swope of Owensboro, two stepgrandchildren, Chaney (Eric) Mayer of Owensboro and Erin Judd of New Albany, IN six great grandchildren, Taylor and Lindsey Needles, Noah and Lola Jordan, Davis and Collin Swope, two step great grandchildren, Jaden and Aynsley Jeffries, and a sister, Mable Grey of Fairmont, W. VA.

Services will be Noon Thursday, March 26, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
