Mary L. Calhoun, 83, of 1405 Benton Avenue, Owensboro, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born June 22, 1921, to the late Edgar and Ruth Davis Loyd in McLean County. She retired from General Electric, was a member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church, and was in the Never Too Old Class. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, working crossword puzzles and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Calhoun, Sr., who died in 1983; a daughter, Anna Sue Martin, who died in 1982.
Survivors include four sons; Harry Calhoun, Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Owensboro, Danny Ray Calhoun and his wife, Mary of Beaver Dam, Jimmy Darrell Calhoun and his wife, Mary of Maceo, Tommy Calhoun and his wife, Charo of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter, Kay Tucker of Owensboro; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, and after 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
